Burren Rock Stars!

The Burren National Park Information Point remains closed in line with Government measures to combat Covid–19. This means we have had to suspend the exciting summer programme of guided walks and other activities we had planned.

The need to promote awareness of our natural heritage and biodiversity, and to inform and educate remains as important as ever.

To reach out to people we have devised the Burren Rock Stars programme of downloadable activities for your learning and enjoyment, which can be completed at home. Fun activities include a minibeast hunt, garden bird survey, quiz and natural art, all designed to help you learn about the nature on your doorstep.

Be a Burren Rock Star… see what nature has to offer and enjoy discovering the gems of the Burren National Park!

Garden Bird Survey

Many of us are confined to our homes and gardens now but that does not mean we cannot continue to appreciate the wonderful wildlife around us. We invite you to study and record the birds in your garden. This activity is suitable for all ages. Good Luck!

Natural Art

To celebrate our connection with nature and to show the beauty of the natural world, for our next activity, we are going to get crafty with natural materials.  In our backyards and gardens there is a wealth of objects large and small, of various textures, in every colour imaginable.  You could make a collage, a daisy chain, paint your favourite animal or plant or create a book of pressed leaves. This is a welcome release if you are feeling cooped up. Time to put that screen down and get creative, go on have a go!
