The forecast is mixed for the bank holiday weekend, but the sun is still shining in Burren National Park, where grasshoppers feast and late summer flowers bloom. Find white heather for luck, leave it be for the bees!
Photos are a great way of capturing nature, and so our Children’s Cuckoo Club returns at 10.00am on Tuesday 13th August with a Photographic Scavenger Hunt. Open to ages 5-12 (plus accompanying adults) – explore the trail, follow the clues, and discover the treasures of the Park!
In the meantime, our next free guided walk takes place at 14.15 on Saturday August 10th, exploring the rocks, woods and meadows of the Nature Trail, tales of the Burren’s origins, and how its extraordinary flora & fauna are protected. Covering 1.5km of varied terrain, this walk will take 1.5-2hours – appropriate footwear and all-weather gear essential.
Booking is required for all of the above – contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 065 6827693 for bookings and all enquiries. To avoid traffic trouble, our free shuttle bus is highly recommended.
And stay tuned, coming soon – Heritage Week events off the beaten track!
